Purpose of the experimental management is to transform the Hospital G. Giglio of Cefalù in a centre able to offer integrated health services research, education and formation in order to provide specialistic services mainly.
The project deals with: |
 | Exploitation of assistance activities, included implementation of emergency recovery thanks to the continuous interactions with specialists of the Hospital San Raffaele of Milan, formative stages, professional interchanges sharing of guidelines and clinical and scientific protocols are also scheduled; | | | The Hospital starting up of a new activities according to guidelines and with the direct involvement of specialiosts from San Raffaele itself. | | | |
The Hospital will be organized in departments and the activity will be based on predefined diagnostic theurapetical process. Final aim is to have an hospital where, according to international models of management, the focus will be on the nursing staff, also via the formation of "case manager nurses" specialized in high quality care.
In this way, doctor's activity will be free to focus on diagnosis and patient's cure, on professional updating and on formation of younger collegues, while the nursing's activity will take care of the rest. The Hospital's activity will be supported by a technical-scientific committee, that will have a strategic function as a guarantee. This committee designated by the San Raffaele and approved by the administrative board is already operative. |

| Operative objectives: |
There will be three parallel directives: rationalization and exploitation of existing activities, starting up of new clinical activities and activation of crucial operation that will allow the hospital's functionality for example informative system for reception supply, contracts and pharmacies services).

| Management analysis of the hospital for optimizing the distribution of human resources; | | | Optimization of methods for providing services for a more appropriate use of the hospital.Protocols and procedures from the Hospital S.Raffaele will be used with special care in adapting them to the local context.
Total quality projects and ISO certification will be developed as a guarantee for the excellence of both organization and medical services. | | | Assessment of formative need by staff with detection of the most appropriate training for therapeutically purposes. | | | |
Surgical activity will be developed according to international guide lines with standardized protocols, as far as pre-surgical evaluation and patient selection are concerned.
Outpatient activities that come before the surgical operative phases will included the instrumental diagnosis related to each speciality. |
