From the 1 January 2004 came into force the D.Lgs 196/2003: the "Code about treatment of personal data".

Intention of code is order the guiding principles that have to point the treatment of personal data and introduce obligatory fulfilments, documentals, organizational and information - technician.

The Foundation Institute San Raffaele - G. Giglio of Cefalù assumes all the standard operating procedures to give a treatment of personal data as by law enacted, in regard of all patient's rights.

Since from acceptance the patient is informed about modality and finality of treatment gave from hospital and can freely indicate which subjects (ex. familiars, family doctors, et.) can have access at your sanitary data and to the information about your presence or admission in the hospital.

The patient's data can be treated only from explicitly authorized staff with all the limits to guarantee the discretion during your presence in hospital, for example through respect of distances of courtesy and containment of the access in departments.

The hospital is hired in a common effort of adaptation of informative systems and of paper archive, in order to confine the treatment of personal data.
